The majority of children attend public schools in the morning. The school day is only four hours long.
Therefore Open Windows Learning Center is very busy in the afternoon. Our teachers and volunteers focus on the following skill functions.
Tutoring and homework support, particularly reinforcement classes in Math, Reading, Science and Social Studies.
Introducing motor skills to teach children dexterity with scissors, crayons, stitching etc.
Basic reading and writing skills, including grammar, handwriting and spelling
Higher critical thinking skills through educational games and creative problem-solving activities
Encouraging creativity through art and craft projects.
Doctors Thomas and Jeanne made a visit to Open Windows Foundation to teach math for Grade Level’s 1-3. Open Windows invited almost 30 teachers from neighboring schools in San Miguel Dueñas. Open Windows teachers, staff and two volunteers from universities joined the very successful event.
